Subject: A waste of time?

Dear Sir,

I have a strange story to tell.  While doing research for a school assignment, I typed in the URL address "www.statscan.com."  I left my computer for a minute to go to the washroom, and when I returned, your page was displayed.  I can't explain why this happen, but I think it may have something to do with a concept you will no doubt scoff at, divine intervention.  I don't agree in the least with any of your claims, especially the one that calls organised religion a waste of time (in your determination, what is worthwhile?).

I feel led to tell you that I am a believer in Jesus Christ.  I can't explain why He hasn't come back yet, but I think that your wording of the statment "Jesus Christ proclaims..." is an acknowledgement, whether you are aware of it or not, that He is at work in your life.  Sometimes those that seem the farthest away are actually closest to His salvation.

Jesus also said "I am the way, the truth, and the life."   I felt led to pray that you would come to know Him in this way.  I know that having a real, loving, practical relationship with some metaphysical being is something that is hard to grasp; it took me a while.  I'll keep you in my prayers

I'll admit that some religions are a waste of time, but Christianity isn't about ceremonies or a showing up at church on Sunday morning.  It's about an everyday walk with Jesus Christ. I don't know the capacity in which you have been exposed to my Faith, but I assure you, not every Christian is judgemental and hypocritical. No one is perfect.  God doesn't expect us to be, but true Christians, those who truly seek to know Christ in a deep, meaningful way, seek also to live according to His purposes.

This is not a coherent or worthy representation of the gospel, and for that I apologize.  Please take it upon yourself to read it for yourself; the book of John would be excellent.

Even though I don't know you, sir, I love you.  I wouldn't take the time to write this if I didn't.  Most importantly, though, is the reality that God loves you too.  Jesus loves you, and has before time existed.  Your existence is a miracle, and He has a very real purpose for you life, and it begins with accepting Him as Lord.  A relationship with Him  IS THE REASON FOR YOUR LIFE. I pray you will find it.

In Christ,

Ben F*******
