There is objective morality or ethics simply because we are social animals. If dictatorial power does not tell us what's right and wrong then general consensus (after much debate) determines what's right and wrong.

If there's no objective right and wrong, then none of us can take the position that "There couldn't be a loving God because He wouldn't permit so much evil in the world." since evil, in an objective sense, doesn't exist.
