Dear Mr. Atheists.......
I see your point, I myself have read the Charter of
Rights and Freedoms, and yes there was many references about God being the
Canada's god. But however, before Canada became a dominion by the grace of
the queen of England so our forefathers can have the right to govern our
country, even though our government was only given Limited control, until the
New Westminster Statutes......But even through The New West Stats we still
have to have a governor General....so we still have Limited control to run our
own country, we so called Canadian's were fucked over. And take a good look at
the BNA which came before the New Westminster Statutes, But know I
am leaving the subject. I better stop before this email becomes 5 pages
long.........
This way of thinking had came form the United
States when the first Americans had came into Canada someware in the
1400's, During this time there was more then one religion being practice in
upper and lower Canada. (Please keep in mind that the first settlers to
the states, were shunned in there home lands and in order to practice there
religion without the fear of being murdered. they had left there home
country) Our Charter of Rights and freedoms had reflect Canada's
people faith in their god. Know in the preamble that you quoted the only
supreme being that was mentioned was god. Have you ever thought about why
the name of Jesus was never mentioned?
It is really simple.......There was more than one
religion in Canada, and each religion that was being practice during this
time would have been at civil war with each other. No
body would ever agree to the Charter of Rights and Freedom if all
the religions had the right to call Jesus the Supreme God. Canada
and The USA practice common law---president cases---the only province
that is different in Canada was Quebec---they practice codification (Roman law),
How ever the founding religions for the French and the British were completely
different, Now please keep in mind that I am only
thinking about the what you have claimed in your opening paragraph in regards to
the preamble.
Now it has been a long while since I have
read the Charter and its affiliated amendments--I cannot
remember when some of the references relating to god were
removed or let alone what statute that is .....But in Gods place the amendment
the noun relegion replaced the noun God. This way that the
people who did not practice Christianity were about to legally practice there
religion in a manor that they see fit for them selves. Just like you
practice Atheisiziem, and I am very impartial to all forms of religion. I
don't care what form of religion my co-workers, my affiliated friends and close
friends practice. Just as long that they do not try to convert me...I am a
very happy camper. I now that our government had gave them there most
basic right.
But what would you think that would happen if the
Original Charter of Rights and Freedoms never mentioned God or
religion? What if our government told us that they could not add Religion
in to the Charter. This is a right that we as Human Beings have practicing
for how knows how long and really it does not matter how we practice or to what
god.....This would be an infringement.....If every one lost this most basic
right to practice what ever form of religion we wanted to practice
then we let the government take the next closes thing the
normally goes hand in hand with religion-is the right to speak our minds
independitaly and a natrual person. You do know that Atheiazim is a form of
religion. so if you could not practice this form of religion thenYes, you
would loose your right to voice your personal beleifs and I would not be
responding to what you told the wold that you honitsly beleave in ...Just like I
would loose my right to impartial to all forms of religion.
We as a people are slowly loosing our rights, but
because people are to busy arguing over what form of god is the right god to
warship all over the world.....We do not have the time to see what
our governments are slowly doing to us. If we can respect people and
let others have their most basic right to practice religion in what ever way
they wish, but at the same time have them stop calling people sinners
because peaple like me and peaple like you do not practice what they
do......We would be able to work together and win a lot of rights that we have
lost. But you should be able to respect other peaples belief systems
and let them beleave what ever it is that they want to, because you at one time
used to beleave in Jesus maby not leteraily but you did regard him as a
form of a god because this is something that you were tought as a small
child. I if you ever go into canada's history before the canada became a
dominion of Britian. You should be able to see why thay could not add
Jesus. Chrisianity beleave that Jesus was the supreme god.
So normally you think God, depending on what form of religin that were
praciticing you would automatically thing Jesus. Many forms of
Christainanity Beliave that there is only one form of that religion. There
cannot not
Last point--here promise......If Canada was truly a
country of its own and that Britain had gave up their colony holder over Canada
in the 1930's (just after world war two) then why do we have to have our Acts be
endorsed by the gervernal General if were are no longer hafe to have the Queens
personal representative sign on behalf of the monarchy. This some things
that most people do not know about, I am sure that you do, because of how you
gave up your own personal religios idial and blamed it on the Charter of
rights. As for me I beleave that there is something out there but I can
not tell you what it is, because for my self I haven't been able to figure it
out. this is my personal journey and it is very secreate to me. But
I would never let a pease of government act that was tuned in to a very
important peace of law take what is very secreate me because they just never put
in gods most famous second name. Why? How could you let the
government and what you feel about our government interfer with what you used to
belieave. To me, It almost looks like that is still new to you (a couple
of years at least).
Anyways have a good one.
I know that I did not convince you, but that is not
my intention because just like the charter still says....Hay man its your right
to beleave in what you want in religion way and it is also your right to voice
your opinion about you think. Just don't let our government take that away
from you. Promise.
