I'm writing this response upon your invitation to an article you wrote on domainbaron.com. Let me say at first that I'm not offended in any way about the way you're thinking about the whole issue of "religion", It's unfortunate though that you do think that way.

 

I would like to write a very extensive, researched response with a more of the facts and proof of those facts, but I'll just mention a couple of things quickly because I don't know whether you'll read this message at all. I'd imagine you'd get a lot of emails from steaming mad Christians slamming you for what you've written, but I would like to refrain from doing so.

 

I am a Christian myself and do disagree with much that you did state and I would like to clarify a couple of things you've said. In general you've given a pretty good summary of what the Christian Faith is all about, however there is one flaw that you stated. This is regarding the place Hell. I do belive such a place exists, but it is not overseen by the devil (as so many people mistakingly assume), but it is meant as a place of torture FOR the devil. It was never meant for people (human beings). However, because of people's own decisions, there will be people that end up there.

 

It's really quite simple, but "religion" has made things extremely difficult for people to actually get to know god. (like you stated: mismanaging and abuse of religious people's authority etc.) However, there are churches with godly and correct and proper leadership in place.

 

You said that newspapers are spotted with horror stories of churches or "religious organizations" taking people's money. But the question is: Do you trust the newspapers and blindly believe everything they say?

 

I won't argue over what's true and what isn't because I believe you have already made up your mind and if you want to believe that god doesn't exist and cares for you personally, you're not going to believe it if let's say your dad rose from the dead and told you it was true.

 

So there it is. If you want to respond, please do so, however, I would appreciate if you did not disclose my email address to anyone else just because I don't have time to put up with all the hate mail I'd get for believing that my God is awesome, alive, loving and actually cares for me.
