First of all I would like to say that I respect your opinion as should anyone.

Based on your 5th paragraph in your article and most likely the rest I would like to say this and I truly believe it is not rationalizing.  Though you will have to let me know your opinon.

What none believers have to realize is this bible was written 5,000 to aproximatly 1,500 years ago were at the time women were not even considered second class citizens.  But to trade for land and to produce sons to work and gather more land by marring of women whos family had some weath (dowry).
If at the the time women were given an equal roll all would have been dismissed and God would not have been able to send his son for the furgivness of our sins past, preasant and future. ( which fulfilled several proficies evidanced in Roman as well as Jewish history text).  What people today fail todo when discussing politicaly correct ( or incorrect ) passages in the bible is transport themselves back to the mindset of the people at the time it was written.  If it had've been written in modern day english and understanding do you really think that the uneducated or even the educated people of that time would have understood.

Secondly on churches condeming homosexuality,  I implore them to look at themselves first before they judge others.  Wheather Homosexuals like it or not that lifestyle is a sin to God.  But he still loves them as he would an adulterer or a sixty year old women gausiping in the church.  God sees anything that Jesus would not do as a sin, not the pearson as sin.

Again to any church leader that may read this the only reason to cast anyone out of a church is if they are braging or bosting and drawing other people to the sin they are bosting about.  Upon asking for forgivness in Jesus's name they should be allowed back into church.
