Dear Mr.
Bedford:
The following observations on your "essay"
regarding Christianity are meant to enlighten you, and not to prove a point,
or waste your time. You may also be interested to know that I am only 15
years old.
There are a number of errors in your examination
of Christianity. The first most intriguing of which is your interpretation of
who Jesus is. You say, "Although Jesus is God, Jesus is just a temporary
human-flesh manifestation of God". This statement shows a total and complete
misunderstanding of the nature of Jesus. He is not temporary. He is still
in existence and was in existence from the beginning. (See John 1.) He was
resurrected from the dead, and therefore still is. He is not simply flesh.
(again, see John 1).
The second strange and inaccurate
statement is about sin. Sin is not "behaving in a manner not
suitable
to the father". It is behaving in a manner not suitable to us. Considering that
the Father created us, he knows best what is good for us. Furthermore, God
sacrificing His Son was not to "show us he forgave us", but to justify
forgiveness. Death is a punishment for sin, (if you can think of a better
explanation for aging please tell me, but I have never heard any reason for
aging or death.) Jesus didn't sin, yet still died, in doing so, he took
our sins on to Him, died of His own accord(he was killed by angry people,
much like yourself, but only because the Father allowed). Although you may find
this confusing, this is the Christian's belief, what you said is not
the Christian's belief.
Another
disturbing statement you made (or question you asked) was "If God can make
everything and has the power to make anything happen at any time then why can't
God make another son?"
I can answer that question. Because he doesn't need
to! I have a question for you though, why did you ask that question in the first
place?
Go didn't create the devil. Yes, he created
something that became the devil but he didn't create the devil. God does not
create evil. But he does create entities with free will. Lucifer (Satan's name
before he became the devil) decided of his own free will to rebel against God.
He was actually the greatest of all the Angels. But he chose to rebel against
God, he actually wanted to become greater than God. (something man seems to try
as well.)
Your paragraph regarding death says that our
souls will live after our bodies die. This is true. However, you fall to mention
the resurrection of everyone's bodies at the end of the World. Also it is not
because one doesn't believe in the Word of Jesus that one goes to Hell, but it
is because one rebels against God. Many people died and went to both places
(actually not to heaven and hell, but to paradise and "Hades" before Jesus even
came to Earth(don't ask. well, ask if you want to find out more)). So, get that
straight too.
You also said "my calculations show that
even if God dedicated all of his time meeting the dead, you would only get to
meet him for half of one second". There is no time as we know it in the
spiritual realm.
Finally and perhaps most importantly,
Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with God. Although most
Catholics and even some Baptists and Pentecostals are very religious. True
Christianity according to growing numbers of Christians is NOT religion. In
fact, evolution requires just as much faith. By the way, who set up the laws
that govern the universe?? Why are they the way they
are?
Sincerely,
