My God is not on a coin or on a shelf,  He is the God of this universe.
You question God - But yet you do not question the actions of MAN
each one of us has choices in this life - right / wrong, left / right, for / against, ETC.
whatever the issue is.  God gave us this ability.  I tried to live my life on my own terms and was a great failure.  After 6 years of marriage I still did not know how to be a husband or a man, I had nothing to stand for, I could drin k to my hearts content and hang out with my friends but it brought NO Joy.  We were all playacting with no place to go.  I thought I was happy in the crowd but when we parted there was no happiness just hangover.  My wife had dragged me t o dif ferent churches a few times but it was the same rhetoric I had heard as a child.
In December of 1973 my wife started attending a Independent Baptist church,  and she dragged me to this one to.  Strange people were at this church, they enjoyed being together, they had something I hadn't seen in people who go to church.  they had a Joy (Different than Happiness) in their lives.  I couldn't understand it at first, I watched these people - were they perfect - NO  but they were different.  They talked about Jesus Christ and God as if he was their best frien d.  they were a giving, loving people they were Different.  I was sitting in my favorite bar a few months later drinking my favorite beverage (Beer) when I took a drink--- and then I couldn't swallow it. It was like someone had pinched my thro at, it wouldn't go down, for a brief moment I didn't know what to do.  Then the thought came into my mind -"God is waiting for you."  I had a choice to make Go with God or stay in the bar.  I made the right choice I went with God.
Without this relationship to Jesus Christ you cannot understand the things of God,  We cannot even understand the things of man without God.
God is a loving merciful God but he also believes in justice.  John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that  whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eve rlasting life."
God so loved us so much that he was willing to give His son to die as a sacrifice, for your sins.  God does not want anyone to perish ( End up in Hell) he says believe in Him and have everlasting life.
Again its your choice do you want to believe in God or in man.   Romans 5:8 says "For God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for you.

Read the book of John in the Bible it has the answers you are seeking.
